How Far Have We Come? Part II

Saturday, June 17th, 2023
2:00 PM to 4:00 PM EST

How much better off is the Black Community today than it was in in the 1960s? How far has the community come economically, politically and socially? What about the impact of the criminal justice and educational systems? How does the Black community reach parity with the white community, and should that be the goal?

THE PLANET IS BURNING: CAN WE SURVIVE

Is it “global warming”? “Climate crisis”? “Climatic changes”? No matter what we call it, the world is surely undergoing a period of extreme long-term shifts in weather patterns and temperatures that humans must address.

To explore what climate change is and what — if anything — can be done about it, the Ujima Pan African Media Archives (UPAMA) organization presents a virtual panel discussion.

The panelists for this virtual presentation will be Gregory S. Jenkins, professor of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science at Penn State; Senator Lorenzo Harewood of Barbados, chair of the National Conservation Commission; and Dwayne Johnson, principal systems engineer and scuba diver.
